Monthly meetings take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the following itinerary:

10:30 – 11:00  Networking (optional)

MATT ZERBY

Chapter President

President/CEO, Wasco Nursery & Garden

Bio

Matt is President / CEO of Wasco Nursery & Garden Center. He is a graduate of Judson University where he earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Business Management and Marketing. He has been working in the landscape industry for 20+ years and is an Illinois Certified Nursery Professional with certifications in both woody plant material as well as perennial plant material (currently there are less than 50 ICN Pros with both certifications). Matt started working at Wasco Nursery in 1992. He took on a management role in the mid 1990’s and purchased a share of the business in 2005 and eventually purchased the entire business in 2012. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Green Industry Association (formerly the Illinois Nurseryman’s Association) since 2008 and is currently serving as Board President. Matt lives in Saint Charles with his wife Amber and two sons; Caden & Tage. He & his family attend Harvest Bible Chapel in Elgin, IL. Matt enjoys; spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, traveling, fishing and all things outdoors.

Bio

Ron, a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional, opened his financial services firm in January 1985. He counsels and advises individuals and small business owners on tax reduction, retirement and estate planning, investment portfolio management and other financial planning issues. Ron’s career began as a teller at the Bank of Niles in 1970. Oak Park Trust & Savings Bank named him Auditor in 1980 and Vice President of Retail and Investment Banking in 1983. He attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Bank Administration Institute School for Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He moved to St Charles in 1988. Some of his favorite activities include snow skiing, photography, travel and gardening. His daughter Nicole (and husband Dave) blessed him with twin grandsons, Austin and Benjamin in 2013 and he just loves his new role as Grandpa Ron! He married Rebecca in 2015 and has 2 step-daughters and a step-son-in-law.

Founder of AcuCare Total Health, Dr. Renee McMurry Gilman has had over twenty years as a healthcare provider and small business owner. Renee and her husband Brit have a strong desire to make Christ known. Pastor Brit and Dr. Renee have served ten years in missions and nine years at Harvest Bible Chapel. Together they teach and train others to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

AMBER ZERBY

Bio

Amber graduated from North Park University with a B.S. in Accounting. Amber has worked in large corporations in both the retail and financial industries and has worked in small business for the last 11 years. She and her husband, Matt, own Wasco Nursery & Garden Center (St. Charles, IL). Amber and Matt are active members of Harvest Bible Chapel (Elgin, IL). Together they have two sons; Caden and Tage who attend Harvest Christian Academy. In her free time, Amber enjoys cleaning, rollerblading and watching her boys play sports.

Bio

Shajan graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art with a B.F.A. in Media Arts and Animation. Early on he had the opportunity to teach at a career-focused school as the Program Chair of both Video and Web Design programs, overseeing faculty, teaching and advising students while developing its curriculum. Since then, he ventured to build his own organization, In the Light Studios, LLC (ILS), a creative agency providing media services for organizations and individuals needing to enrich their visual presence in areas of print, video and web.
