How to become a Courageous Business Leader
Let’s start with the obvious; you cannot be a stand-out successful Business leader without being a Courageous Business Leader. Leading of any type involves courage and leading in a growing and vibrant business requires an unusual dose of courage. Without courage you will slowly drift into bland mediocrity inflicted with the curse of being just like everybody else. Nothing underleverages your status with the Lord of the Universe like blending into the ordinariness of the world. Listen carefully when our Leader says:
“Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.”
Psalm 31:24 NKJV
This passage could read: be strong and God will make you stronger. If we are willing to be Leaders of courage and trust God, then God will work on our behalf so we can be stronger. Don’t pray and wait for Him to make you courageous, God does not work that way. He says, “Draw nigh unto me and I will draw nigh unto you.” God never forces himself on us, but waits for us to invite Him into our lives and into each business situation in our lives. Being a Leader of courage is taking the first step of faith and trust that God will meet you.
Courage does not mean we have no fear. Courage is taking action regardless of our fears. If our hope and trust is in God, we can be assured that as we demonstrate courage, God will step in and work on our behalf. When faced with a challenging business situation, we can pray, “Lord, I will be a leader of courage in this situation. I know that, as I trust, You will give me strength to stand. My hope is not in what I can do, but what You can do through me.”
Ask yourself these questions right now, how am I demonstrating courage? Am I living a courageous life? What am I doing that any other business leader without Christ could be doing?
